The Colorado Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (COAAA) was established in 2010 as the primary organization representing Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants in Colorado. As a state component of the national American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAAA), COAAA is dedicated to maintaining practice rights, encouraging professional growth, expanding practice locations, and securing the future of the CAA profession.
We advocate before the legislature, support students entering the field, facilitate credentialing and licensure guidance, and build meaningful connections across Colorado’s healthcare community.
Protecting and expanding CAA practice rights in Colorado through direct engagement with lawmakers and regulatory agencies.
Supporting the two accredited CAA programs in Denver and funding scholarships for students entering the profession.
Building a strong network of CAAs, physician affiliates, and healthcare institutions across Colorado.
Helping Colorado healthcare facilities adopt the Anesthesia Care Team model and credential qualified CAAs.
